How do you manage to stay out of the beefs in hip-hop? You’ve had issues with folks, but you’ve squashed everything. How can you do it when other people can’t?

I think people’s fascination with that is crazy. Like me, if you’re in a househould and everybody's arguing all the time, some people will come running in the room to see what’s going on. Me, I’ll leave and go outside to get some fresh air. That’s how I feel in this whole hip-hop thing. When everybody’s arguing and beefing, I try to stay out of that. You have some fans and people who are entertained by other people’s dysfunction. I don’t want no parts of that because I don’t want to see what’s going on with other people’s problems. I’ve got enough of my own. I’m trying to get to the good life. I’m not trying to be a part of all that negative stuff.
